SYNOPSIS - FIRST DRAFT

We see a man going about a lazy day as he narrates his actions. While warming a sausage roll his phone rings but he does not answer. Again it rings, and he succumbs to the alert, immediately falling to his knees with grief. We flash back to an argument between the man and an older woman. It is heated, but as with the other flash backs, sound is muted and replaced with an ongoing soundtrack. We then cut to the woman lying ill in bed before quickly cutting to the man hanging around with a rough crowd, obviously uncomfortable but trying to fit in. We return to the woman in bed again but again quickly cut to another scene: the man sitting on a bench, alone. He gets a phone call but denies at and continues what he was doing, deep in thought. We soon cut again to the ill woman, as we zoom out from above the still body. Back to the man's house, he gets up from being sat in the corner, returning to the sofa which he had started the film on. He looks discontented, he rushes to the front door but stops half way. His television has come back on so he returns to his seat and suppresses what he has just experienced.
