EVALUATION QUESTION 2

WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED FROM YOUR AUDIENCE FEEDBACK?

The first thing we had to consider when we wanted to receive feedback from different audiences, was how we would collect the feedback and improve our film based on other people's opinions. We decided to create a survey on SurveyMonkey, in which we asked many different questions about people's TV and film viewing habits. We did this so that we could see what the majority of people preferred when it came to genres of film, where people watch film and also what they like about film. This opened up a wide variety of answers that informed us of what people liked and didn't like, so that we could steer clear of the stuff nobody wanted to see and ensure we focus on what the audience's preferences were. During the survey, we asked some more personal questions such as people's age and gender in order to see which demographic prefer which films, and thus accurately figuring out which age range and gender our film would be aimed at.

Another helpful way of receiving feedback was during our editing process. We allowed people to sit in and view the editing process in order to receive various comments about some of the things we was doing during this stage of the filmmaking. This allowed us to receive constructive criticism about our movie in order to improve it where it needed it. This meant that we could again ask the demographic we was aiming towards to tell us what they liked and didn't like about our movie before it was finished so that we could accurately cater to what the viewers wanted to see. This is part of the reason that the audience feedback was so vital in the making of the film because we could make tweaks in order to produce a film that is to the best of our ability.

Social Media played a huge part in our filmmaking because it allowed us to use various different sites to gather feedback on our movie. Examples of this are the comments section of the YouTube video of the film; using Facebook to gather feedback when we shared the video on the site, and also on Twitter when we shared the video onto the site and received tweets for feedback. This again allowed us to make improvements based on what the viewers want to see and what they may not have liked about the film. Also, it helped us to get accurate reviews from the people watching, which was very helpful not only in the production stages, but also the evaluation.
