INITIAL PRODUCTION MEETING
"Bad Yutes"
Our first idea was for a film that revolved around the gangs residing mainly in London. Due to London being the place we have grown up, we have also seen some of the issues faced in our initial plans for this movie in real life, so we felt it would have made for a good film and felt it would be the best place to base the film around. However, due to a low budget, we would not have been able to accurately portray the same sort of lifestyle, so we felt this film may not be fully possible to achieve. Lots of the other films about London gangs are very highly rated, examples being Kidulthood, Adulthood, Ill Manors etc, which we felt we would not have been able to compete with, and in turn would not have made a film we would ultimately be happy with.
"Cogito Ergo Sum"
Our second film idea was a much more abstract idea, and is also the idea that we decided to go through with. It considers that the things we know to be real are only seen through our own perspective, and therefore the concept is ultimately subjective. The film is intended to examine events that are quite normal, if not dramatically heightened, from a very specific point of view. At this point, we wanted to have two actors, a man and a woman, however this was later altered to just a male in order to further emphasise the point of the film.
