Most of the film takes place in a house, the home of the protagonist. Seen in the film are the living room, corridor and kitchen, each of which are intended to convey normality.

The setting is intentionally dull and even cliché as such is intended to be relatable by the audience.

The alleyway is dark and populated by rough-looking people as well as the protagonist himself. This shows that he has resigned himself to squalid areas, as alleyways do not tend to be areas frequented by honest citizens for extended periods.
